Great time to have the last name "Hansbrough"

First, Tyler scores a career high 27 points in losing effort against the Nuggets.
Second, lil' brother Ben scores 19 to knock off #2 Pitt.
On the flip side - bad time to have the last name "Cutler".

Vikings 1-0 since firing Childress.

I was flipping through a book the other day of classic trademarks from the 70's. When I saw the Mr. Goodwrench character from 1978 I couldn't stop laughing. All I could see was Brad Childress. Childish? Maybe. Childress? Definitely.

You can quote him on that....

Cavs owner Dan Gilbert is not a fan of LeBron James, but he's a big fan of putting words in quotation marks.

And not just words that call for "quotation marks". But for "words" that don't "need" any quotation "marks". Words like "who" and "right" would be just fine without quote marks, but for some reason Dan Gilbert felt they needed more. Get it? Click here and maybe this will help.

In his now infamous letter to Cavs fans, I counted 10 instances. And one was, get this, quoting his own sentence within his own letter. Huh? Is that even legal?

I know he's mad LeBron left, but quotations won't bring him back. Neither will unnecessary ALL-CAP letters SPRINKLED here and THERE.

I know many people were offended by his letter. And I can't blame them. Seriously - "Comic Sans"? There wasn't any other font you could've used? One that's, say, "professional-looking"? Who's your PR guy - the same one LeBron uses?

Cheer up Cavs fans, (both of you). There are brighter days ahead. You still have Shaq, right?

Kiss those days goodbye

The recent tazing of a Phillies fan as he ran onto the field got me thinking. What would happen if tasers were around in the 80s, during the "Morganna - The Kissing Bandit" era?

For those of you younger than 30 - Morganna made her claim-to-fame by running onto the fields of various sporting events mid-game. It was widely accepted as good, clean fun. She got so well known that some athletes would welcome her mid-jog. (Although I'm guessing she was pretty easy to recognize.)

That's Nolan Ryan on the pitchers mound, bracing for bandit-besos. Note the security guard in the dugout. Not only is he not-tasing MKB, he's flat-out applauding. Were the 80s goofy or what?

Fast forward to 2010 - where the only ones getting to first base are the ballplayers.
